01. What is MelvinJunior and who is it for?
MelvinJunior is software for teaching and learning European Modern Foreign Languages at Primary level on the Interactive whiteboard or on individual PCs.MelvinJunior was designed as a tool for teachers to use in the whole class context. Subsequently a pupil version of MelvinJunior was also developed allowing the MelvinJunior games to be used by small groups or individual pupils as a revision or reinforcement aid.
02. What are the minimum system requirements for using MelvinJunior?
MelvinJunior has the following requirements:
Windows PC (Windows 2000, XP or Vista)
256Mb RAM (512+ recommended)
340Mb free disk space to install
Sound card and speakers
03. Is MelvinJunior compatible with my school network?
MelvinJunior is network compatible and comes with a Network configuration utility. This utility allows an administrator to change which client computers access MelvinJunior for teachers or MelvinJunior for students, to change the path to user edited files, etc. The advantage of installing MelvinJunior on a network is that all users can share a common set of user edited resources such as additional label files, custom topics, etc. The only disadvantage to running MelvinJunior over a network is that the program is slower to start than if it is installed on each.

04. Can I use MelvinJunior with any brand of Interactive whiteboard?
Yes, MelvinJunior can be used with any brand of Interactive whiteboard.
05. Can I use MelvinJunior without an Interactive whiteboard?
If you don't have an interactive whiteboard, you can still use MelvinJunior, even in a whole class situation so long as you have a data projector - simply get your pupils to interact with the program via the mouse and keyboard rather than touching the whiteboard - you could consider investing in some cordless mice that could be placed at the front of the class allowing you to remain adjacent to the projected image of the program.
06. Can I use MelvinJunior on a Mac?
Sorry, MelvinJunior is only available for Microsoft PC.

07. Can I customize MelvinJunior?
Yes, you can create custom topics in MelvinJunior.
You can also create custom labels for any topic in any language.
08. Is there a preparation utility for MelvinJunior?
We do not offer a preparation utility for MelvinJunior.
09. Can my pupils use MelvinJunior too?
Yes, MelvinJunior is available in a pupil version.

10. Can I use MelvinJunior's pictures in my own materials?
No, the pictures in MelvinJunior are embedded in the software and are not licenced for use outside the application.

11. Where can I get support and training for MelvinJunior?
Contact ic language and we can talk about training. We would not generally consider a training session for individual schools, but for a cluster or a group of schools that would be possible.
