All 3 german teaching resources ship with 12 german games - these include german hangman, german snakes and ladders and german 4 in a row. Some of the german games are suitable for small group or individual revision, but all our german games are suitable for whole class teaching of german using the interactive whiteboard or data projector. All our online german games can be accessed by your pupils individually via a pupil login when you create an account.

German topics

Our products come with predefined german teaching topics to cover all your beginner german and intermediate german teaching needs. Each topic is a set of specially drawn german pictures complete with a simple text and corresponding speech file. Secondary / adult topics have 20 pictures, primary kids topics are 10 pictures each. Our topics for teaching german include german sports, german food, german family members, etc.
Some topics supply simple vocabulary (food, rooms, places, adjectives, etc, while others come with complete sentences (family members, sports, etc) as both texts and speech.

All our german teaching topics can be extended in all products by creating custom texts that you can easily load in any section of the software, giving you an extensible german resource that grows with your german pupils. In Melvin and MelvinJunior you can also create custom topics by combining any of the pictures - these will automatically pick up the appropriate default language for use in the games and activities.

German worksheets

Melvin and MelvinJunior come with a print wizard with which you can print out german worksheet resources for your german pupils. These printable worksheet resources are mainly games based, but also include labelling sheets. The worksheet resources can be printed with any of the 54 topics supplied with Melvin / 40 topics supplied with MelvinJunior or with your own custom topics.

German vocabulary

Each of our german topics is supplied with a simple german text and german speech file. Many topics are based on simple german vocabulary e.g. clothes in german, lost property in german, garden items in german, etc, etc. Both Teach Online and Melvin are supplied with 54 topics, MelvinJunior with 40 topics.

German for beginners and intermediate

Our products are suitable for both primary and secondary ages, as well as adults seeking to learn german as a second language. Our german language is based on the UK curriculum at both primary and secondary.

German reading

In any game or activity, displaying the german text for a picture is a button click away. These texts can be revealed and hidden, and can be edited to save your own language for any topic. Reading is facilitated by the availability of speech events for every standard text that can be played along with revealing the text - whether to show just text, play just speech or both is up to the teacher, or you can switch off all language and supply your own german language.

German listening

With a german speech file for every picture, german listening activities are easily supported by all 3 of our german teaching resources.
