Teach Online is composed of 3 sections:
- Activities
Activities are modules for introducing your pupils to the target language prior to playing the games. - Whole class games
A series of games that can be played with the whole class using the Interactive Whiteboard. The games are designed to be both fun to play and motivating for students. - Utilities
Utilities are modules for creating and editing your own custom content.
Each of these sections is accessible anywhere in the software via the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Activities
Modules for introducing language.
These modules are available from the Activities menu.
Introducing the language
Introducing the language is for introducing the target language to your students.
Topic images are selectable thumbnails. The selected picture appears in the main picture window on the left of the screen. To the right of the main picture window are annotation tools for writing in the box below. Alternatively use the on-screen keyboard for the selected language. This keyboard is operated by touching the letters on the whiteboard in combination with your physical keyboard.
View all topics
View all topics is for quickly checking the images / language in a topic.
You can also use this section for simple activities based on showing / hiding label texts. Choose the topic you want to view from the Topic list on the Settings page
Whole class games
A series of whole class games available from the Games menu.
The games are designed to reinforce the target language once it has been introduced.
Two or three games could be played in succession to further reinforce the vocabulary.
Once a game is selected, the Navigation menu gives you control over re-playing the game.
Utilities
Modules for creating and editing your own content and settings. These modules are available from the Utilities menu.
Label maker
This utility has been provided to enable you to create custom labels to use in the other sections of Teach Online. Labels enable you to display short portions of text within most areas of the software - custom labels can be created in any of the languages supported by Teach Online.
